As urban gay guys in a metro gay ghetto it is quite easy for us to lose perspective on what it means to be a homo in the real world. To make matters worse, we are bombarded with negative media regarding attitudes towards gays in, shall we say, less traveled areas of the country. Let’s face it, the last place I want to get my information is from the American media.
Dear readers in red, square states I want to hear about your experiences. Seeing things like 30 Days: A Straight Man In A Gay World and Big Eden make me believe that people in general are far more accepting of gay individuals than we are led to believe. It’s Pride month and I think it would be great to show how far we’ve come in the past 38 years.
Please leave comments or drop me an e-mail with a personal story demonstrating the good or bad about being gay beyond the bassinet of the nearest boys’ town.

On this date last year I posted this video of Johnny on You Tube to promote his new membership web site. Today I’m posting it here to showcase some new video features available thanks to the wonderful Jeroen Wijering media player. We’ve been using his player for some time here on Hazzard Ahead, but I didn’t keep up with the new versions. Big mistake… Huge! This video is larger than usual to prove a point so give it a chance to load and then check out the full screen feature. Nice! As Johnny would say.
In other news, several weeks ago the aforementioned You Tube page was visited by a woman set on spreading her misery around. I was mildly amused by her raging stupidity until she chose to go whole hog ig’nunt bigot on my ass. The rate of escalation was truly startling - obviously based on something deeper than a silly video page comment section.
I invite you to take a moment and see what charming things she has to say. You won’t be disappointed.
Addendum: Justice is served! That hateful bitch has been banned from You Tube for life. Sometimes it is worthwhile to write a quick, thoughtful note.

Maybe you haven’t noticed, but things have been just a little dry here on Hazzard Ahead lately. I don’t know, I guess summer has taken a toll on me. The pace of life has slowed down a bit and I haven’t had any interest in the party thing or divulging my mysterious inner workings for the world at large to consume. Can you blame me? It’s been over 100 degrees most days and hiding out at work or in the dark confines of my pristine sanctuary there hasn’t been much writing fodder. So I’ve decided that I need your help in making my blog a more desirable destination. That’s right - I want my readers to take an interest and prime my writing pump. Now there’s a usage of the word “pump” you didn’t expect to find here!
This is my idea: I want you readers to tell me exactly what you’d like me to spout off about. People that know me realize I’m a soft-spoken guy, but I have my opinions and I’m ready to share them. Boy Wonder and I are going to collaborate on this project and respond to the best ideas put forth by my fans. Take a minute and leave a comment about what thoughts you’d like me to express. We’ll choose our favorite and go to town for your reading delight. Otherwise you might just have to settle for a mediocre recount of a lame night out on the town in the possibly distant future. Do you really want that to happen? I didn’t think so…

While the music video for Johnny’s song Deeper Into You is busy racking up bandwidth over at Gay Porn Blog, we’ve made the dance clip to Moving Into Light available for download at the Johnny Hazzard Shop. I really wanted to add something special to the purchase version, but discovered early on that I had milked that shoot for nearly everything it had. As a result, all the download can offer you is higher resolution, amazing sound and sharper video than seen on You Tube.

Well kiddies, brace yourself for ecstasy because the video for Deeper Into You is about to be unleashed on the world. We shot the final segment last Thursday and since that time BW has been hard at work layering, editing and trying to keep his head from doing a complete turn. No doubt this will rock! The good gents over at Gay Porn Blog will host the premiere of the video tomorrow. That’s right, don’t come here because Gay Porn Blog has the exclusive debut. It’s my special “thank you” for their tireless support in this, my first year in the blog-o-sphere.
