Quick Fix Music Moment Part 5

Posted by Boy Wonder

OK - no more eighties songs, I promise! This track was not even a single so only hard-core fans will even recognize it. This album did not do well at all in its native England. In fact, a friend of mine from South Africa had never heard of it even though he was a big fan of the group’s first album. Meanwhile, here in the U.S., the first single from the album was a top ten hit. How often does that happen?

Well Jerrod, your music tastes are quite eclectic. I believe it runs the gauntlet from Madonna to Willie Nelson and everything in-between. You and my mother share a similar auditory palate. She can go through Britney Spears, Marilyn Manson, 50 Cent, and Alan Jackson in the same listening party! Consequently, genre bending is becoming widespread among music fans. However, I remain Rock N’ Roll’s bitch!

Hey there. So do you post the answers to the questions somewhere? I think this song is by ABC. But now it’s going to drive me crazy not knowing if that’s right or not!!

Interesting bits of trivia, by the way. I can appreciate (and relate to) your music-geekiness.

Scotie - Yes, I do… eventually. OK, you’re right, this IS ABC from their terrific album How To Be A Zillionaire. The song is called 15 Storey Halo and I only like the second half, part of which is featured in this entry. And thank you, much more geekiness on the way!

Scooter Says:

Wow! That was a quick response! After reading the comments from the previous questions I see that you haven’t made your readers wait too long before satisfying our need to know. I was prepared to wait a couple days…

So, I won’t go crazy wondering about the answer…but now I won’t be able to get the tune out of my head! 10, 20, 30, 40, 15 story halo…

Fun song and album! Can’t believe the Brits did not care for it. (And what do you not like about the first half of Halo anyway?)

Well thanks again!

That just goes to show what a lame-o I am up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday sitting at my desk watching Green Acres and checking e-mail.

Seven miles wide! The first half is like getting off at Redfern for me. Come on! Let’s get on with it, shall we? Then it does at 3:04 when it seems as though all the elements in the song come together in harmony. It kicks!
